8. PRESENTATION OF PROJECTS

CONSUMER LAW PROJECT

Ensuring the population’s access to justice requires that the jurisdiction be directed to make decisions based on fairness and that they be rendered in a reasonable time. A great number of repetitive demands are presented to the Judiciary of Brazil, which generates a process overflow. There are more processes today than judges can appreciate. The focus of the research is to study alternative mechanisms of conflict resolution in litigation involving consumer relations with a focus on efficiency analysis. The issue of conflicts arising from consumer relations was chosen because they represent, quantitatively, one of the main issues that are brought to Brazilian magistrates.
